Summary of Book:  This is a very informational book about an artist named Frida Kahlo who follows her husband whom is a more famous artist, Diego Rivera to San Fransisco. The book illustrates a true story of her time in San Fransisco when she had lived her whole life in Mexico. It shows how she did not enjoy her time in San Fransisco and was just a shadow to her very popular husband. Frida Kahlo is an important icon in art history. This biography introduces children to Kahlo and teaches them that you can make your own dreams come true, even if there is someone in life who overshadows you. This is why I would read this book to my class. It is very inspiring. It would also be a great book to read to an art class or an art history class. I thoroughly enjoyed the illustrations in this book and it leads the students to do more research about the artists and their artworks.
